Stay and booking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The campsite is open from May to September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We strongly recommend that you book if you wish to stay especially during July and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July and August, all rentals are on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All reservations must be accompanied by a  deposit of 30% (or one night if less than 20 euros), the balance paid on arrival for campers and a month in advance for the rentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrival and Departure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Camping pitches are available from 1pm and must be vacated by noon on the day of departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rental accommodation is available from 4pm and must be vacated by 10 am on the day of the departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the low season you can arrive until 7pm and during July and August until 9pm but ONLY with prior agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case of later arrival, please let us know as soon as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rental price includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The maximum number of persons stated in relevant rental location<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Parking for one vehicle. (There is an extra charge for additional vehicles and trailers)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Consumption of water, electricity, gas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Not included is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Tourist Tax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Animals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Pets are allowed, except in the new 5 bed chalets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dogs must be tattooed or microchipped, vaccinated and kept on a leash. The certificate of rabies vaccination must be available to view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In accordance with Article 211-1 of the law of 6 January 1999 relating to \u201cdangerous and stray animals and to the protection of domestic animals\u201d  Category 1: Attack dogs: are prohibited. The 2nd category : Guard dogs: must be kept on a lead by an adult (Art.211-5 RC) and muzzled. These dogs must be registered with a pedigree which is recognised by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      We ask you keep your dog under control at all times, not only on the campsite but also in the valley, please don\u2019t lock\u00a0them up;\u00a0 don\u2019t leave them alone and don\u2019t let\u00a0them bark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Baby Equipment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      A baby bed is available on request when booking for rental accomodation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Accessibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      All of our pitches for tents, caravans or camping cars are accessible via gravel lined roadways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Visitors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      If you wish to receive visitors, please inform the reception BEFORE they arrive, there is no charge unless staying over night<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Tourist Tax<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      A tourist tax is collected by the campsite on behalf of the municipality of Chamonix. The amount is \u20ac 0.20 per night per person over 18 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      General conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      1. A reservation constitutes a personal contract; it is non-transferable, and subletting is not permitted. All reservations require a deposit equal to 30% of the total rental price.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Check-in for rental units is between 16:00 and 20:00(please notify us in the event of a delay), and check-out is by 10:00. Rentals are available on a weekly basis only (Saturday to Saturday), unless otherwise arranged in advance. Campers may arrive from 13:00 onwards and must depart by 12:00 PM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Reservations are confirmed in writing or via email once the deposit has been received. The balance is payable at least 4 weeks prior to arrival for rental units, and on the day of arrival for campers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. A reservation becomes valid upon our written or email confirmation following receipt of the deposit. The balance is payable at least 4 weeks prior to arrival for rental accommodation, and on the day of arrival for campers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Any cancellation must be notified by letter or email; the date of receipt determines the cancellation date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. In the event of cancellation, the following charges apply: the total cost of the stay if you cancel less than 30 days before the scheduled arrival date or if you fail to arrive on that date. No refunds will be issued for late arrivals or early departures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      7. Upon arrival, a \u20ac200 security deposit is required for chalets and other rental units; this covers potential property damage and the cleanliness of the accommodation upon departure. The deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay, less any costs for missing or damaged items. Cleaning is the responsibility of the tenant. Unless you have paid for the optional “end-of-stay cleaning” service, chalets and other rental units must be left in a perfectly clean condition. Otherwise, a minimum fee of \u20ac50 will be deducted from the deposit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      8. Guests must comply with campsite rules at all times, particularly regarding noise levels at night. Copies of the campsite rules and regulations are available at reception and can be sent upon request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      9. Civil liability insurance is mandatory. Proof of insurance must be returned with the booking form. Management accepts no liability for theft, loss, or damage of any kind during or after your stay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      10. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Bonneville District Court (Tribunal d\u2019instance), located at 18 quai du Parquet, BP 136, 74136 BONNEVILLE CEDEX. The French version of this agreement shall prevail.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Insurance when renting accommodation in France <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Point 8 from our general terms and conditions is mandatory when renting to French guests and is meant to draw your attention on the following point : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Residents in France are required to have public liability insurance \u2013 \u201cassurance responsibilite civile\u201d, which is usually included in home insurance or available as an add-on. This covers them if they damage another person\u2019s house. Then, the home owner claims on the individuals insurance, not their own, as French rental insurance does not cover damage caused by guests. That\u2019s why holiday let owners may ask for proof of insurance, as its common procedure in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We know it may be difficult for a person based in the UK to get cover specifically designed to cover their liability for a rental in France and consequently will not require copy of insurance certificate.  A comprehensive travel insurance or home insurance policy should provide public liability insurance cover for damage to 3rd party property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        These details are considered necessary in order to avoid any misunderstanding. We shall look upon you, as always, as our very welcome guests, and are confident that you will take away with you happy memories of your holiday at Camping des Ecureuils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
